I’m a wife, mother of two teenagers, daughter, sister, friend, boss, colleague, Airbnb host and amateur artist.I have a Unit on the Yeppoon Beachfront that I rent out as a holiday rental. Her name is “Beach Belle” and I thoroughly enjoy sharing our part of Australia with various guests.
I’m also the owner of the Aussie Rockhampton Franchise with whom I’ve run with my husband, Brendan since 2007. We are proud to be a part of the Aussie Group and have enjoyed creating an amazing team of people with whom we work with every day to serve our customers. I am also responsible for marketing Aussie Rockhampton through social media/email correspondence, our events co-ordination so you’ll often see me in this space. I am also an accredited Mortgage Broker however, there is other things that need to be taken care of in managing the business.
I look forward to making your acquaintance.
Love the business of business, constantly improving on every aspect of it and the people within it. It is challenging and rewarding to be managing three distinctly different businesses.
In their quest to find the best community to raise their children Lisa and Bob immigrated directly to Yeppoon in 1991 from the USA without ever having visited Australia.
Lisa feels blessed to be one of those women who can say they got to do it all; wife, mother, professional, volunteer and friend. And now Managing Director of Sail Inn Motel and Seabreeze Servo & Takeaway, where every day they to strive to make your day better by providing what you need on the run. Your one stop Servo.
I’ve witnessed great social change for Australian women in my lifetime! We’ve certainly come a long way during my 60 + years on the planet. Way back when my brother and I were funding our paths through university via holiday jobs, my brother (3 years younger)was paid more for the same job processing fruit at the Golden Circle Cannery. When my first son was born, I was told had to resign if I wanted to take extended maternity leave. I requested job sharing and was told it was impossible for Education Queensland to operationalise. How life for working females has changed!
The theme of International Women’s Day 2018, is Press for Progress. This year I’ve decided to firmly commit some time to the powerful concept that underpins Busiwomen – empowering women, young and not so young, to make the world and lovely section of the coastline a better place for us all.
In the words of a famous cultural anthropologist Margaret Mead, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

Throughout my career I’ve been passionate about the consistent application of personal and professional development. This has enabled the growth of my own career as well as those I work with, which is why leadership and metaphysics continue to capture my attention. My roles have included tracer, teacher, operations administrator, business system developer and stakeholder engagement officer. Education, fishing, timber manufacturing and refrigeration are just a few of the industry sectors in my work history. These led to roles in regional economic development and has been the focus over the last ten years culminating in a project to secure rail in Queensland for the grain industry in 2017. I am currently participating in Belinda Brosnan’s Influential Women Program and studies in kinesiology while maintaining the accounts for the family business.
I am excited to once again have a role with the Busi Women Management Committee. It is a safe place to share experiences and learn new skills. The support and encouragement we members offer each other keeps the organisation vibrant. ‘Empowering women through connection’ has been our purpose from inception more than five years ago. I see it in action at every event. I look forward to continuing this tradition over the coming year.
